Crossover Castro Valley Youth Basketball

The Crossover Co-ed Basketball League runs from November 2013 through mid-February 2014. There are divisions that are separated by grades: 2nd/3rd, 4th/5th, 6th/7th, 8th/9th, and 10th-12th. It is an opportunity for boys and girls to learn about God, have fun, obtain basketball and teamwork skills. There are practices each week to build their skills and games are played on Saturdays. Registration takes place in September.

Crossover Castro Valley Youth Basketball is in its 26th year of uniting the young basketball players in our community with one another, caring coaches and the local churches. There are five age groups based on year-in-school, and all teams are co-ed.

  • 2-3 Grade
  • 4-5 Grade
  • 6-7 Grade
  • 8-9 Grade
  • 10-12 Grade

This is a recreational ministry – which is also the largest youth organization partnering with the NBA’s Junior Warriors program – and is designed to provide a fun and safe activity for the youth in our community.

Practices – one per week for one hour – begin in November and go every week (except for holiday seasons) through the end of the schedule in February. Teams will also play one game per week starting in December.

Crossover CV is a ministry partnership with significant leadership from Castro Valley First Baptist and First Presbyterian churches, with the goal of creating healthy competition and building biblical character into all participants.

The Crossover name has special meaning. It is:

* An important and basic basketball move.

* A change of direction, from one side to the other.

* A reminder that we are all “under” the Cross of Jesus Christ.

All participants will receive a uniform and a player booklet which has the weekly “Crossoverse” for them to study and memorize.
