YESTERDAY AND TODAY
For nearly 75 years, Castro Valley First Baptist Church has served the community of Castro Valley and the surrounding areas, forming a biblical family for generations of believers. From the beginning we have strived to be a living testimony of The Church that serves the needs of our congregation and community.
Our mission to “Love God and Invite Others to Follow Jesus” continues this legacy of forming a Biblical family for generations of believers. Our faith community is blessed with more than 20 plus active ministries, a thriving children’s preschool, and a commitment to sharing the gospel. Our aging church campus is producing new challenges and opportunities.
OUR PLAN FOR THE FUTURE
What began as a conversation amongst the church staff and Elders about updating the Worship Center and the need to resurface the parking lot soon turned in to a larger conversation to include the desire to expand the usage of the parsonage home on Malabar Avenue and address the deferred maintenance in the gymnasium.
As the conversation moved forward, the church Elders authorized a planning committee to estimate Phase I of the Legacy Plan. The planning committee was given the task of determining the scope and design of each project. Working with local vendors we were able to obtain cost estimates for each project keeping in mind how it could best serve the congregation and our surrounding community. For the past several months the team has undertaken a thorough planning process consisting of evaluating the condition of several major campus components. As a result, CV First is pleased to announce the official beginning of the Legacy Campaign Master Plan.
